anyway, SILENCE OF LUNG was indeed marred by SDP's presence and involvement. just like the previous recent event of PINKDOT gathering. they were there trying to steal some limelight. this time round, they did steal a big rotten sour lemon - not much publicity was given to them by the medias. no tv, no cna news, no nothing...just an obscure SHIT TIMES column which only stated SEELAN as the organiser.
for those who wanted details of this infamous event which swordswomen TEO SER LUNG and TANG FONG HAR who were unjustly being framed as "marxist" and thrown into ISD jail for about 5 yrs, go to www.thecitizenonline.com for the finer details and archived newspaper cutting.
LUNG & HAR were the most chilvarous and courages swordwomen then. they were lawyers helping peasants to access legal aid within their means. they were then known as the LUNG XIA jie mei(in canton: LUNG HAR JI MUI) or LOBSTERS SISTERS. but if it was put in hokkien, it would be TEO TANG LUNG HAR cold dish combination or - pai seh, translated means "kena hammered lobster".
please save ur trip to SDP's warped noticeboard. as anticipated, they would stoop to such a stage to either steal the limelight - as usual or exploit the happening - again, as usual.
footnote: teo ser lung is now about 60 yrs old. her lockout in ISD was an accusation that had never be proven. peasants are still up till today left in the dark. MAY 21 marked the anniversary for that traumatic, unexplained event especially for those accused as reported.
internet wasn't as prevalent as now. the sgp gov still owes the nation some REAL, TRUTHFUL AND JUSTIFIED explanation. this incident sadly is continuously being harped at and exploited especially from dubious factors especially sdppies which themselves has never explained "their foreign backing" rumoured in the heartland of singapore.

i was still in sp poly when this incident happened. a number of SPSU, S'PORE POLY STUDENT UNION leaders were also arrested and thrown into ISD. foo chin yen was our student leader then. some from USSU, UNIVERSITY OF SGP STUDENT UNION were also arrested.
after this unjustified and probably framed event, tertiary students soon came under the jurisdiction of the college administration instead of managed entirely by the students.
in a way, much was being silenced :(
