SDP CLAN confusing the peasants

lamui and her new beau

as the GE contest held every 4 yrs drew near, SDP CLAN after having started a few subsidiaries clans such as USD where lamui ruled and SF where chiasai ruled began their deadly smoky skill. it was called the FOGGY CONFUSION OF DUALITY.

in this grand martial arts contest which only happened once every 4 or 5 yrs in peesailand, all the clans pitted their formidable kungfus against the familee and their minions the PAPPIES. it was during this particular period that peasants were given the golden opportunaity to select the dominant clan to rule over them. whichever clan got the highest votes, shall rule for the next 4 or 5 yrs and were entitled to milk the poor peasants high and dry. balls would be grasped and butt painfully screwed and many would be milked dry.

it had happened in the past GE contests and each time the familee and their minion pappies were elected to rule over them. it was like a habitual ritual. peasants moaned, groaned, cursed and swore at the pappies and their avaricious leegime but when come GE, again they voted them in. peesailand was such a strange sado-machoistic country that seemed to enjoy being screwed pain pain.

but wait, this coming GE would be very anticipating. could it be that peasants need a different style of painful screwing? the ground felt the presence of many opposition clans that were fully equipped with kungfu exponents blessed with certain secret deadly skills that boast to be able to tackle the pappies and defeat at least a few of them so that the opp winner could rule over a certain province.

SDP CLAN was very active. many had suspected that this could be a pappy's mole deployed to mess things up for the collective opp clans. master chee with his devious plan had set up shops in another few opp clans - USD and SF.

the notorious CONDOM HEROES team of lamui and chiasai were deployed as the respective chiefies. but wait, report from JJ, the turdy nerd who was master in shapeshifter just came in....

Jaslyn Go: Social activist, potential election candidate
March 29, 2011 by admin

29 March 2011

On Monday, the Straits Times introduced Ms Jaslyn Go as a potential election candidate for the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP). She was seen making her rounds at Yuhua constituency, an area formerly a part of Jurong GRC. If she contests in Yuhua, she will likely be facing PAP’s Grace Fu.

But what the Straits Times did not report was the heart-rending story of a 39-year old female resident of Yuhua, who is living in dire circumstances, and who told the SDP team that all she wanted was a decent paying job so that she could care for her family and “keep our heads high with dignity“. [1]

Mdm Tan is living in a 3-room flat with her three children. The SDP reported that she had lost her job as a cleaner because she would take time off to attend to her children whenever one of them fell ill. Mdm Tan had sought the help of her Member of Parliament, Ms Grace Fu, but to no avail. The utilities in the flat, including electricity and water, are under threat of being disconnected. [2]

The SDP team provided Mdm Tan and her children with basic necessities and also brought along a doctor to render medical assistance to one of her kids.

Jaslyn Go has been involved in this kind of community work and social activism for over a year with the SDP, way before she had any inkling that she might be a potential election candidate.

I believe one of the first community initiatives she participated with SDP was a visit to a nursing home in September 2009.

Jaslyn’s career in social activism has its roots in her keen observation of the problems ordinary people face in their day-to-day chores.

In February 2009, she came across an incident in which a Tanjong Pagar Town Council staff member was loudly and publicly berating a cleaner for not doing his work properly. Even if the worker was not up to scratch, Jaslyn pointed out that there was no necessity for such behaviour from the council staff. She wrote to the town council to register her concern and to ask that all workers be treated with respect. (See here and here.)

But Jaslyn’s involvement in political and civil activism goes back even further than that.

She was one of the Tak Boleh Tahan 18 who were charged in court for participating in an assembly and procession without a permit in March 2008. The group of 18 had commemorated World Consumer Right’s Day by holding a press conference at Parliament House and a subsequent walk-about at Funan Centre. Some members had also carried placards and distributed flyers engaging Singaporeans on the issue of the rising cost of living.

Fast forward to today, three years later, and the mainstream media finally acknowledges that the escalating cost of living is indeed one of the “hot-button” election issues. [3]

Three years ago, activists and SDP members had already sounded the alarm that Singaporeans were being hurt by rising inflation. However, it is only today, when the elections are drawing near, that the issue is brought out into the open by the media. It is three years too late, and countless individuals like Mdm Tan of Yuhua constituency have suffered under the failed policies of the PAP.

was it confusing?

which clan was lamui suppose to be representing? wasn't she the chiefy of USD or U SEE DITDIT CLAN? why was she now a sdppy? even more confusing: she had never admitted she was a sdppy. she always boasted how faked up chilvarous of her to remain partyless and pantyless.

it was a devious hoax meticulously schemed by none other fraudster master chee ah juan. so now it appeared that many peasants were thoroughly confused. who should they vote?

the beauty of SDP CLAN's evil plan was to delegate notorious stinky name such as lamui to divert peasants' votes for more appropriate opp clans. SDP would hence dilute the overall opp votes to ensure that the pappies would garner a superior votes to eventually win the province over.

suppose there were only one opp candidate challenging a pappy for a certain province. the voting would be simple: it was either opp or pappy, i.e, a 50 vs 50 chance.

in come SDP ever ready to mess up the almost fair competition. it was going to be a 3-corners fight. maybe pappy got 40%, another opp got 30% and sdp got the balance of 30%. result: pappy WINS!! if without the presence of sdp, probably the opp could end up with 60% and of course, the result : opp wins!!

as the GE was drawing nearer, SDP CLAN's of initiating their deadly FOGGY CONFUSION DUALITY began to get thicker. it muddled up the peasants' sight and confused their thoughts. they were now quite foggy brained and chances were the pappies might just win this contest all over again.

no thanks to the sdp clan!

master chee's conspiracy EXPOSED!

The lies of SDP and Chee Soon Juan
March 17th, 2011 | Author: Contributions | Edit

After reading the article that Temasek Review Chee Soon Juan¡¯s interview. I believe strongly believe I need to write to talk some views on SDP and Chee Soon Juan.

1. Freedom of Speech
SDP and CSJ had been preaching about Freedom of speech. So when one of his member, Mr. Malik, start to make comments in the internet without their prior approval, they tried to stop it. Hence Mr. Malik has to resign on the matters of principle. So freedom of speech does not mean it is true freedom and SDP has to agreed to that.

2. Getting fund from Foreginers in the interest of Singaporean CSJ has been without jobs for sometime. The fact that he can survive in Singapore where he claimed that the cost of living is too high. Either he can survive the little money that he is having now. This mean the cost of living is not that high. But the obvious side is he is getting money from some unknown sources mainly foreigners to provide his living expense. On they complained some much on foreigners in Singapore and yet he use foreigners to fund all his activities. What is his hidden agenda?

3. The power and control
CSJ always point the fingers at PAP that they control everything to their advantage. Isn¡¯t he doing the same thing in SDP? The fact that he chased Mr. Chaim See Tong and all the senior members of SDP out of their founding party show that he is eyeing for the power within SDP to his advantage and benefits. Worst case is he lied that he never
chase CST out of the party.

4. Liars
CSJ and his party continue to lie to the public on the Temasek Holding and our CPF money. First, they mentioned the govt has no transparency on those money. If so, then how they know Temasek Holding lost billions of dollars. If Singapore really lose so much money, why our dollars can still be strong and our GDP still be positive.

5. The Oscar go to Chee Soon Juan
The fact that CSJ continue to challengue the govt is that he need those publicity on MSM for him to secure foreign funding. CSJ had been challenging our laws not just once but multiple times show that he need some limelights for his hidden agendas. In one of his act, he even involved his wife and his child to see him being arrested and
cried in front of the public. Doesn¡¯t that look like a Mediacrop drama? A question for everyone. If you know that you are staging a protest against government and you will be arrested, will you still bring your family members along?

For those who want to know the Hall of Shame of Chee Soon Juan and their members, please go to http://notmysdp.blogspot.com/

chia's longkang prophesy fulfilled

Socialist Front leader guilty of professional misconduct
Lawyer's blog postings breached ethical rules, in contempt of court
By Yen Feng

A DISCIPLINARY tribunal has found opposition party leader and lawyer Chia Ti Lik guilty of professional misconduct.

As a result, the 36-year-old will face a fine.

The tribunal, which released its report yesterday, found Mr Chia guilty of five charges brought against him by the Law Society of Singapore. Two other charges were dismissed.

The charges were filed by the society following a complaint from the Attorney- General's Chambers (AGC). They relate to blog postings the leader of the Socialist Front wrote between June 2008 and June 2009.

The report said that his comments had breached ethical rules and were in contempt of court, adding that they also 'cast doubt on the integrity of the judiciary and judicial processes'.

Most of the five charges involved Mr Chia when he was acting for members of opposition parties.

Two were related to his representation of former Singaporean lawyer and Workers' Party election candidate Gopalan Nair, in 2008, during which Mr Nair was found guilty of insulting a judge.

In a blog posting dated June 2008, Mr Chia hinted that the judgment was politically motivated. Moreover, his comments were made as the case was ongoing.

In another blog posting dated September 2008, Mr Chia wrote about Ms Chee Siok Chin, the sister of the Singapore Democratic Party chief, Dr Chee Soon Juan.

Mr Chia implied that the Attorney-General and the Supreme Court Registry had acted together - inappropriately - to disallow Ms Chee's appeal to travel overseas for a conference.

All this, the tribunal found, had the intended effect of persuading readers to question the integrity of the court.

In the two other charges in which Mr Chia was found guilty, the report said that comments Mr Chia had written in his blog about the AGC implied that its decisions in two separate cases - one involving an illegal assembly, and another of three persons Mr Chia was defending in 2008 for contempt of court - were politically motivated and unfair.

The latter case involved three persons who wore T-shirts depicting a kangaroo in judges' robes on Supreme Court premises.

Mr Chia said on his blog that the AGC should also have prosecuted The Straits Times for publishing an article which included a picture of the trio.

He said that the AGC did not do so because it was 'restrained and in awe of a mere Straits Times'.

Of the total seven charges faced by Mr Chia, two were dismissed by the tribunal.

The first was related to a letter that he had written to the AGC asking to see video footage that allegedly caught the defendants in the kangaroo T-shirt case, wearing the T-shirts, on tape.

He said that the letter may be made public 'due to the importance, the urgency and the sensitivity of the matter'.

The AGC viewed the letter as a threat. It responded to Mr Chia, saying: 'Do not presume to threaten these Chambers with publication of the correspondence.'

Mr Chia wrote back to say he did not threaten the AGC, and did not intend to do so. In this matter, the tribunal agreed with Mr Chia. It said: 'Insofar as there is some ambiguity in the language in the Respondent's letter, we give the Respondent the benefit of the doubt.

'In these circumstances, we find that the first charge has not been made out.'

The second charge that was dismissed involved a case Mr Chia was on in 2009. In that case involving a blogger who posted an article online about Molotov cocktails, Mr Chia had blogged about the case - while it was ongoing.

The report said, however, that this did not amount to misconduct.

The charges that Mr Chia has been found guilty of warrant a fine - but not more. His case could have been referred by the tribunal to the Court of Three Judges, which would have the power to disbar him from the practice of law.

The tribunal, however, found that there was 'no cause of sufficient gravity' for that. It noted, however, that in addition to the fine, Mr Chia must pay the Law Society $3,000 in costs.

All cases of misconduct by lawyers fall under the Legal Profession Act. Prior to Mr Chia's cases appearing before the disciplinary tribunal - which is convened by the Chief Justice to investigate complaints about lawyers' conduct - they were also reviewed by two other independent committees, which are not part of the Law Society.

Mr Chia told The Straits Times last night that he would approach the Law Society on the penalty and cost.

Asked to comment on the penalty, a society spokesman said it was unable to do so as confidentiality in such disciplinary matters was required under the Legal Profession Act.

the sad consequence of the dreadful longkang prophesy for chiasai had finally been fulfilled.

chiasai was always in the news for the wrong reasons. worst, he thought those were the patriotic and chilvarious deeds instead of the detrimental.

would he ever learn?

time would tell but probably being a stubborn, arrogant and rash lawyer, i doubt he would learn his lesson. he could aggravate into a more bitter person like master chee and bear more hurtful consequences.

if only he would just humble himself so that his angry heart was calmer and realised the follies that he directly or unwittingly involved himself foolishly in.

in love, he failed. he defaulted and his wifey left him. he mixed up with a fishmonger's wife, got bashed up and whether after being the unofficial CONDOM HEROES in the martial art fraternity ended happily ever after. that was still a real mystery. they were seldom seen together ranting in public with the sdppies. lamui now did it alone. chiasai wasn't seen close or present with her.

dark clouds were now looming over chia sai. he faced the prospect of losing his si ye or law adviser license to practise.

whether such consequences was deserving to a young and new si ye was anyone's guesses?

did the leegime bring this suffering to chia sai or did he sow and reao the retribulation himself? your guess is as good as mine :(

master chee jealous about saikongseng's presence

CNA: 'No attempt to discriminate against SDP'
05:56 AM Mar 03, 2011SINGAPORE - The Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) has written to Channel NewsAsia, protesting against its exclusion from a special edition of the channel's Talking Point programme about the recent changes to the electoral boundaries, which first aired on Sunday night.

The programme brought together three Opposition figures - National Solidarity Party secretary-general Goh Meng Seng, Reform Party secretary-general Kenneth Jeyaretnam, Workers' Party treasurer Eric Tan - and two MPs from the People's Action Party (PAP).

In the letter, also posted on the opposition party's website, secretary-general Chee Soon Juan said: "It is unfortunate that Channel News Asia has chosen to discriminate against the SDP."

Accusing CNA of having a "political agenda in line with that of the PAP's", Dr Chee, who cannot contest the coming General Election because he is an undischarged bankrupt, added: "We protest such blatant and reprehensible discrimination in the strongest manner possible."

In CNA's reply to Dr Chee, a copy of which was obtained by Today, the channel's vice-president of corporate services Han Chuan Quee said: "We would like to emphasise that Channel NewsAsia, which has reported on local, regional and international news developments for over a decade now, has no agenda to advance, except to carry the news and views which are relevant to our viewers."

"Let me also assure you that there is no attempt to discriminate against the Singapore Democratic Party. In fact, the SDP's views on the changes to the electoral boundaries were reported by MediaCorp on several of its media platforms," she added, citing Dr Chee's quotes to the media that he did not see a logical explanation as to how the boundaries had been drawn and they "seem to have been carved up in a haphazard way to benefit the PAP".

The episode of Talking Point, which Ms Han said had received encouraging feedback, was recorded less than 24 hours after the boundaries report was out. She also noted that there were "many considerations" in organising such a forum - deciding on its duration, the size of the panel, working within a tight turnaround time as well as identifying relevant topics.

"For instance, one key point of discussion was how new Single-Member Constituencies would affect plans and strategies of incumbent MPs and the parties contesting. The programme was not meant to be a comprehensive report card detailing the reaction of every single political party in Singapore. At the latest count, there are at least 11 active political parties," she said.

The programme, she explained, was meant "to be a more qualitative discussion, to give viewers a flavour of the different points of view about the changes to the electoral boundaries, as seen from the Opposition camp as well as incumbents from the ruling party".

Today understands that apart from the SDP, other opposition parties such as the Singapore Democratic Alliance, which is embroiled in a leadership challenge, as well as newly formed parties the Socialist Front and United Singapore Democrats were also not invited to the forum.

master chee was very upset and jealous that CNA, peesailand's national tv news media had purposely left out master chee in their half hour program TALKING POINT. the invited guests to appear on national tv was KJ of RP CLAN, saikongseng chiefy of NSP CLAN, eric from WP CLAN and 2 other paps mps.

it was a chance to showcase oratorial talent skills which saikongseng stood out from the opp herd. that aggravated the jealousy of master chee cos he was the grand pagan preacher and unofficially and thick-skinnedly proclaimed himself as the grand chiefy of the opposition clans. well, at least that was what foreign medias always reported master chee to be for which he was not and chee was sniggling quietly knowing how well he had misled those silly blurcocks foreign ang mos.

to pacify his displeasure, master chee resorted to - what else, ranting and spamming CNA until they also beh tahan and was glad that master chee wasn't invited to appear or else there would be chaos with all his petty verbal barrages.

they already boasted how popular their own internet website, blogs,FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE and etc they could land themselves in but for one thing, that was what SDP CLAN was notoriously good for - BRAGGING AND RANTING.

what was the point to invite master chee? he was a bankrupt. no matter how well he could attain all his unorthodox deadly kungfu skills, no peasants in peesailand would vouch support for such imbecile loudhailer.

so rant on master chee. yell, shout, spam and do so whatever u deem u please. not many peasants are going to fall for your deadly zombie skill. the light has shone and revealed all your vileness and evil to destroy peesailand.

perhaps master chee should seriously consider establishing a new religious order. CHEEISM would be quite an appropriate name. once established and stablised, master chee could once again try to usurp the grand throne from the paps and rule or rather ruin peesailand like the song goes....KILLING EVERYONE SOFTLY WITH HIS SONG.

saikongseng broke GRC da vinci code on tv

he asked: suppose ang mo michael from the pap win the GE, it means that the whole GRC is just a fallacy cos michael is from the minority and yet voters still choose him.

the purpose of GRC is to make sure minority gets represented in parliament. the actual ethic should be sufficient opp mps should be included in parleement to represent the opposing voices in peesailand. for the record from the last GE, tbe opposing voices stood at 33.3% and this were only represented by 2 opp mps. fair?

RP now and PR tomorrow

PR here stands for Permanently Resigned, i.e, no longer RP member after brief joining. what could be wrong with RP after grandmaster JBJ's death? could it be like what was alleged about KJ's difficult persona?

frankly most of opp parties kungfu masters were quite similar in such lofty i-say-u-follow attitude. if that were to continue, losing GE would be inevitable. even if wards were to be won, internal conflict and strife might still persist and make their victory a mockery and a great disappointment to the voters.

the opp masters and their disciples had just got to get their act right and in tandem. sadly, this is easier said than done. a strong reliable and respectful leadership appeared to be missing in the opp clans.

The past few days were sheer torture as I was caught up by the political turmoil in Reform Party. Many people have already knew that I have joined Reform Party then and equally shocked to learn that I have left them only after a few weeks.

For the record, I have left Reform Party on my own accord and did so before the news broke out for the departure of the other nine members. I was not influenced in any way by their infamous departure.

I have never thought that my short encounter with politics would be that colourful and eventful and I am only into my second month! My learning curve in politics has taken on a fourth gear ride…

Never in my wildest dream would I imagine myself to join a political party and quitting it a few weeks later…it was a personal setback to say the least.

I actually took a few days off to clear my head and hope to make a come back soon given that my political ambition is still very much alive. The episode though disappointing has also allowed me to fast-track on my political learning curve.

I have heard that politics can be difficult and taxing but could never fathom that the emotional stress can be that overwhelming especially when something went that awry. I must be on every major newspaper and socio-political sites by now.

I joined the party after speaking with Kenneth – Reform Party’s Secretary General – on the first week of February. I took a week to think through before making up my mind to join them.

Before that, we have a few email exchange while I was still residing in Sydney. It was all very cordial but superficial.

We met up in Starbucks Orchard and though it was only an hour of chat, I knew that this guy is serious in what he is doing and more importantly very driven.

Nevertheless, despite his (Kenneth Jeyaretnam's) mesmerizing presence, he also came across as somewhat detached and rather aloof. He hardly smiles and if he does, it is artificial and almost unnoticeable.

I was caught in a dilemma as though I like the party’s mandate and his overwhelming presence, I am rather uncomfortable with his persona.

I knew that if you could not work well with the party’s secretary general, you will be in for a rough time. The many unpleasant incidents that I read from the press involving opposite parties have really put me on my guard.

After deliberating between Reform Party (RP) and National Solidarity Party (NSP), I took the calculated risk of joining RP – knowing fully that my decision could be wrong. It was one of those decision that you knew you have to do despite the fact that it may carry some form of risk.

I preferred to take some calculated risk than err on the side of caution. My adventure with life has somewhat geared me to do that and having live abroad for a while, I guess I am more risk-taking and battled than most people when it comes to handling adversity.

Walk-abouts and questions

I went for a few rounds of walk-abouts with the team and realized that they have a lot of youth joining them. I have never seen so many youth coming out on a week day doing something that is so meaningful and life-exchanging and it was a very motivational moment for me.

If this group of youth can come out of their busy schedule to knock on doors for Singapore without any personal agenda on a week day, how can I not come out and do the same if I want to stand up as a political candidate during the next election?

Nevertheless, the nagging question remained: Where is Tony and Hazel and why are most of the walk-abouts dominated by the youth? Where are all the adults or potential candidates? It is perplexing and no one is willing to talk about such matter with me.

Though I don’t really know Tony and Hazel well enough, we have exchanged several facebook messages last year and they struck me as decent people who believed in what they are doing. They have also spoken well of Reform Party then and have asked me to join them if I returned to Singapore.

We lost contact for the whole of last year and I reckoned that they must be busy with work and other matters.

I have also never contacted them at all when I deliberated on whether to join Reform Party or not. I felt that such decision is best made by myself independently and I don’t like to be unduly influenced by anyone.

Moreover, Kenneth seems to be the main man in the party and despite repeated denials, one could not help but believe that ultimately he will call the shots when it comes to the shove. The gnawing fear that this is yet another one-man party is undeniably strong.

After a few rounds of walk-abouts and casual chats with Kenneth, I felt that indeed I have real difficulty connecting with him.

He is rather introverted in nature though I knew that he tried his very best to connect with the people around him. We chatted casually a few times and it was mostly very official and on party’s matters. My heart sank as I would prefer a more than cordial relationship with the party’s secretary-general if possible. At least, I would want to see the SG to be someone who is approachable and forthcoming.

If he is always seen to be putting up walls around him then it will be difficult for anyone to come and share their life with him.

Many of us have paid a great price to join opposition politics thinking that we can do something for our country. Friends and even family members may shun away from us when we join the opposition.

Some have also place their rice bowl in jeopardy and families have crossed swords with one another when their loved ones join opposition politics.

Personally, my wife has told me that she will divorce me if I join politics.

There is this fear that is so ingrained in many of us that once a person joins opposition politics, he has already sign his death certificate and he is on a journey of no happy return.

Singapore’s culture

Maybe in Singapore or Asia in general, most of us prefer a more casual working relationship with our fellow party members especially when opposition politics is seen as daunting and intimidating.

Our government’s unrelentless use of suits to knock opposition candidates down have definitely sent out a chilling message to the opposition field – its going to be a hard ride if you want to join the opposition politics. You will also rub shoulders easily the wrong way given the tension in the opposition party camp.

Of course, one could not expect the SG to bring himself so low that no one will respect him but at least he should be seen as approachable and communicative.

If possible, he should find out more about the strengths and weaknesses of his members or potential election candidates and try to provide him as large a platform for him to manovure politically as possible. More importantly, the potential candidates need time and room to move around freely so that he will find his niche and political acumen over time.

Most of us come in to serve politically after counting the cost and if we encounter too many shut-off or close-door, we may as well not join politics at all and remain as normal citizens or arm chair critics.

By the third week after joining RP, I was already feeling very edgy and uncomfortable mainly with the disappearance of my couple friend and my inability to connect well with my SG.

I called Kenneth and told him that I wanted to have a chat with him face to face. The first thing he asked me was: “Are you pulling out?” I was shocked and even exasperated and knew that the chat wasn’t going to be anything cordial.

I am someone who preferred to talk out my doubts and of course, wanted some answers if possible.

We arranged to meet and the talk deteriorated from the first minute. I am in no liberty to disclose our exchange here and I hope that readers will respect this decision of mine.

The whole issue boiled down to a lot of differences between us and
an unwillingness to be transparent with one another.

Nevertheless, my short traumatic experience has enabled me to offer a few suggestions to potential opposition party candidates and also to our various opposition parties here.

If you want to join opposition party politics, be prepared that there is no perfect party to join. Each party has it’s strengths and weaknesses and you won’t know party suits you until you join one.

Attend their walk-abouts and open-house events. Don’t jump straight into one and regret later on as it will be tricky to withdraw your membership once it is approved.

Talk to the people around you and get a feel of how they run their operations. As election time is very near, most parties will be in high gear now and this is the best time to actually go on the ground and attend their many scheduled events.

More importantly, check out the secretary general who normally will be the person to call the shots though there will always be the CEC around to act as a check.

If you sense that the SG is someone who is very highly regarded and even revered, then you have to decide whether you can accept such a party philosophy.

Sadly in Singapore, most parties are centred around one man – normally the SG and we all know that when this happens, most of the other party members will hardly have a say in the opposition party affairs. It will be sad if there is only one person who makes all the decisions for the party.
For the party’s secretary general, its always wise to allow the party members, especially if he is being identified as a potential election candidate, to go on a few rounds of walk-abouts and party events with the team. This way, he is able to get a feel of the team dynamics and more importantly judge whether he can gell with the team members or not.

Someone has told me that identifying a potential election candidate is like going on a date. You get to know one another, identify each other’s strengths and weaknesses and decide whether the marriage will still carry on.

Some may feel that the union will not last and wants to call it quit. Others will take off smoothly and the union ends up in a marriage of permanence.
Due to the shortage of abled talent in opposition politics, I urge all Singaporeans who want to make a difference, to join us.

You need not be a well-educated professional but someone who really wants to do something for the country whole-heartedly despite adversities. Of course, if you are educated, it will come in as a good bonus but it is not something that is really crucial.

You need to have a lot of steel before coming in – knowing that you will face up to a lot of pressure from your peers and family members. Its best also to count your cost as there will be a price to pay in many ways.

For one, you can’t be a private person anymore especially if you are a potential election candidate. Your life, mistakes and even your family may be up for public scrunity. Just look at my short one-month political experience and you will know what I mean.

Opposition politics is not for the weak-minded and definitely not for someone who wants to see some tangible return. There may be more sacrifices than returns of any form here.

Nevertheless, the personal satisfaction from doing something for your country is worth all the money and gold many of us are earnestly seeking out for ourselves here.
